1 YouTube Tag Spamming: Beware! on 9/24/2014, 12:28 pm

If you spam tags in the video description, your video might get flagged and taken down. It actually happened to me once, now I understand why it was considered as "spam". Rolling Eyes

The website spam404 is trying to shut down as many people as possible. Check out their achievements:

Note that many people might be in danger since tag-spam is common. Shocked

Well, what's the fuckin' difference from uploading a video and adding tags that way?! They both get included in searches. It's not really spamming, in my opinion, just a way of allowing people to have better search results for what they want. Now, if you include tags that are unrelative to the video, then that is spamming.

Yeah. If you add any tags to the description, relevant or not, the video may be taken down for spam. The removed video of mine had legit tags in the description so it's not allowed either.

Only use the tags field and it should be fine. Idk if false tags there do any harm because nobody can see them besides the video owner so it probably never gets reported.

What I hate on YouTube is that you have to pay for your mistakes without even knowing about them in the first place. Their ToS is like only 1/10 of what they disallow you to do. Things may go unnoticed for a long time but suddenly you get screwed up. Wink
